1. Sketching Ideas.
I start out on paper. I find it most productive to sketch out ideas in a notebook. I'm most concerned with concepts at this stage—not designs. To my way of thinking, designs emerge from concepts, concepts do not emerge from designs. My goal in creating a logo is, at best, to demonstrate the benefit of using the product or service and at minimum to create a visual symbol of the subject matter. Below is few examples of my brainstorming sketch of concepts.
2. Open Illustrator and create some concepts.
During this step, I'm usually fleshing out sketched ideas, but I leave myself open to completely new possibilities.
Choose the right concept and give it colour that match with the logo representation.
